Notes

This week's show takes on a tour of some of the Grateful Dead's early performances, with a spotlight on several appearances at the Filmore in San Francisco.

The show begins with a demo recording for Autumn Records made by the Warlocks on November 3, 1965 at the Golden State Recorders in San Francisco.

Next we hear a cover of You Don't Love Me - sandwiched in the middle of an extended Good Morning Little Schoolgirl from the Summer of 1966.

Then we take a tour of early shows at the Filmore with tracks from July 17, 1966, November 19, 1966 and May 5, 1967 at the Filmore.

The show closes with the Dead's set from the June 18, 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.

Reviews

Reviewer: cream-puff-war - - November 30, 2005
Subject: Grateful Dead sampler - 1965 -1967
compilation reviewing the band's early years, with occasional info spoken between with details and brief anecdotal bits.

Sol's voice overs are minimal, as the main focus of this 2 hour (+14 min.) piece is the music - complete songs, apparently culled from the good ol' LMA downloads.

A reminder of how it used to be...
